Aleksandra Zanowska is an Associate in the firm’s litigation group with nearly a decade of experience in dispute resolution, litigation and international arbitration. She has extensive experience in drafting pleadings, petitions, motions, substantive arguments, research memoranda and other legal documents, as well as representing clients at hearings and trials. Aleksandra joined the firm from the New York State Supreme Court, New York County, where she served as an Assistant Law Clerk to Hon. Lori S. Sattler in Part 2. In this role, she researched and drafted numerous proposed orders and decisions, as well as supervised discovery and settlement conferences in civil and commercial matters. Prior to her time in the New York Supreme Court, Aleksandra was a Senior Associate at Baker McKenzie Warsaw, and a member of Baker McKenzie’s Global Dispute Resolution Practice Group, while also seconded to the firm’s arbitration team in London. She acted as lead counsel and co-counsel in commercial, banking, intellectual property, and white-collar matters in Poland, including successfully arguing matters in the Polish Supreme Court and appellate courts. She also represented clients, including as lead counsel, in numerous international arbitrations conducted under ICC, UNCITRAL, ICSID, DIFC-LCIA, PCC and JAMS Arbitration Rules. Aleksandra holds the Master of Laws degree (J.D. equivalent) from Jagiellonian University in Poland and an LL.M. degree from Harvard Law School. For several years, Aleksandra taught courses and workshops on investment and commercial arbitration at the Jagiellonian University. She volunteers as an arbitrator in international commercial and investment arbitration competitions for law school students. Outside the office, Aleksandra enjoys travelling, playing the piano, chess, and running.
