As a member of both ZEK’s transactional and litigation groups, Annabelle Machado-Costa leads a diverse legal practice. In her transactional practice, Annabelle represents banks and lending institutions in commercial real estate financing matters and handles both residential and commercial real property acquisitions and dispositions. Annabelle is experienced in negotiating and drafting financing and security documents, resolving title and municipal issues, counseling clients through all phases of real property acquisition and disposition and drafting and negotiating transactional agreements. Devoting her time and attention to each client and transaction, Annabelle believes in a personal approach to her real estate practice and directly manages all her clients’ transactions. Annabelle’s litigation practice includes defending banks, financial institutions and mortgage servicers in contested lender liability, commercial loan obligation enforcement and escalated residential foreclosure actions. Annabelle is also a member of ZEK’s Food & Beverage Practice Group where she focuses on representing clients in liquor licensing matters. Annabelle has an extensive knowledge of Connecticut and New York liquor rules and regulations and assists her clients through the liquor licensing application and renewal processes and in the defense of liquor law violations. Annabelle is a devoted member of her community. Along with volunteering her time to facilitate fundraising and charitable activities, Annabelle is a proud Girl Scout leader and active member of her church. Outside the office, Annabelle enjoys hiking and biking with her husband and two children, and promoting her Portuguese heritage by participating in a traditional Portuguese folkdance group.
