James Medwick is an associate in ZEK’s corporate group. James’ practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private funds, securities matters, and business formations, as well as corporate, partnership and LLC laws more generally. In addition, having founded his own wine business which operates in a heavily regulated industry, James brings both legal and regulatory savvy and an entrepreneurial viewpoint to advise clients on matters relating to e-commerce, online and social media marketing, IP protection, privacy laws, and fundraising. James has a J.D. from New York University School of Law and a B.A. from Johns Hopkins University, where he majored in international studies with a focus on western Europe and was a member of the 2005 NCAA National Championship Men’s Lacrosse team. He also has an M.A. in philosophy from Columbia University. James is fluent in French and proficient in Spanish and Italian.Outside of the office, James is passionate about wine, sports (especially Johns Hopkins lacrosse) and the fine arts, particularly French and Italian painting from the Renaissance through the 18th century.
