Kevin Badkhshan is an Associate in the Firm’s litigation group. He is experienced in drafting pleadings, petitions, motions, substantive arguments, research memoranda and other legal documents, while zealously advocating for both plaintiffs and defendants. Kevin endeavors through keen attention to detail to ensure that clients are well-prepared, well-equipped and confident at every stage of litigation, from inception through disposition. Kevin joined the firm from the New York State Supreme Court, Commercial Division, New York County, where he was a Commercial Division Law Clerk to the Honorable Melissa A. Crane in Part 60. During his time in the Commercial Division, Kevin performed extensive legal research on novel and unsettled areas of law, drafted decisions for high stakes, complex commercial motions and trials, and resolved various intricate discovery disputes. He also regularly conducted Preliminary, Status, Compliance, Pre-Trial, and Rule 14 conferences. In addition, Kevin reviewed judgments, stipulations, motions to seal, and various proposed orders on a daily basis. Ultimately, Kevin assisted in all aspects of managing Justice Crane’s docket of hundreds of active complex commercial cases. Prior to his time in the Commercial Division, Kevin also interned at the New York State Supreme Court during law school, in one of the General IAS Parts, where he first began drafting bench memoranda, orders and decisions relating to various sections of the CPLR. Prior to that Kevin interned at the New York State Department of Financial Services, in the Enforcement Division, where he performed due diligence, prepared reports, and conducted legal research to assist with investigations. Kevin is a graduate of Emory University (B.A., 2017) and New York Law School (J.D., 2020). While in law school, Kevin was a John J. Tormey ’28 & Marion R. Tormey Scholar, and a Starr Foundation Scholar. Additionally, Kevin was also a Constitutional Law Teaching Assistant. Outside the office, Kevin enjoys spending time with his friends and family, playing golf and tennis, and kayaking.
