ZEK attorneys represent and work with individual athletes, sports teams, agents, leagues, authors, musicians, performers, publishers, and venues on a variety of legal and strategic planning issues. ZEK attorneys have represented athletes, authors, teams, and entertainers in negotiating contracts and in disputes involving antitrust issues, ownership issues, contract and payment claims. ZEK proudly represents the National Women’s Hockey League, the only United States-based women’s professional hockey league. Our attorneys have substantial experience in the delicate and sophisticated nature of working with high profile clients and matters, and are skilled in addressing issues such as confidentiality. Among other things, we have provided advice and handled litigation concerning league formation, ownership, franchise movement under the antitrust laws, intellectual property, maximization of revenue, and arbitration of disputes arising under collective bargaining agreements. ZEK likewise has successfully counseled clients in resolving disputes prior to litigation or public disclosure. ZEK’s services to such clients include both professional and personal matters covering a wide range of issues unique to those in the public eye. As an adjunct professor at NYU’s Tisch Institute for Sports Management, Media and Business, partner Yoav M. Griver of our practice group shares his knowledge and experience, teaching Sports Law and Sports Management courses to graduate and undergraduate students.
