Our Government Investigations Group represents businesses, senior executives and other individuals in complex criminal, civil and regulatory actions and investigations.

The Group includes members with extensive government, criminal, regulatory, financial crime and forfeiture/monitorship experience. These include a Federal Independent Counsel, FBI Assistant General Counsel, federal and state prosecutors and regulators formerly with the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the New York and Bronx County District Attorney’s offices.

Our clients are often faced with simultaneous criminal, civil, regulatory and Congressional investigations arising from the same events. Our attorneys are well equipped to handle such matters given their extensive experience in handling confidential investigations, criminal trials, congressional hearings and various enforcement proceedings.

We have a long history of advising clients concerning Anti-Money Laundering compliance, Sanctions and Anti-Bribery and Corruption matters. We also regularly counsel clients on the design, implementation, and adequacy of risk-based compliance programs, assist in identifying gaps and mitigating risk, and advise on the effectiveness of internal policies.

Our Group has also defended global companies and individuals in high profile congressional investigations regarding kleptocracy, tax havens, tax policy, correspondent banking, derivatives risk, e-commerce, mortgage fraud, securities manipulation, FIRREA, human trafficking, oligarchs, drug trafficking, sanctions violations, government waste, and the 2008 Financial Crisis.

We are proud of our frequent collaboration with other firms that seek our subject matter expertise in financial crime matters and our demonstrated track record of successfully handling matters before various congressional committees and other governmental entities. In addition, we provide financial crime investigation training to global companies, other law firms, the U.S. Congress and numerous federal, state and local prosecutors and law enforcement agencies.
